Prof. Dr Jean-Marie Moeglin Elected to the AIBL

On March 18, 2022, Jean-Marie Moeglin was elected to membership in the French Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres (AIBL). Moeglin, who is a professor at the Sorbonne University in Paris and director of studies at the École Pratique des Hautes Études, has been a corresponding member of the MGH Central Board of Directors since 2003. His long-standing ties with the Monumenta go back to his first visit to the institute in 1982 and an Alexander-von-Humbolt Fellowship in 1985-1986. Besides contributing reviews for the Deutsches Archiv and regularly making use of the MGH library, his connections to the MGH include many personal friendships which he has made here over the years.

The Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres is one of the five prestigious academies of French arts, humanities, and sciences. Together with the Académie française, the Académie des sciences, the Académie des beaux-arts, and the Académie des sciences morales et politiques, it forms the Institut de France with its seat in Paris. Members are elected for life.

The MGH congratulate their corresponding member, Jean-Marie Moeglin, on his election!
