Prestigious Award for Japanese MGH Scholar

In the presence of their imperial majesties, the Emperor and Empress of Japan, the 114th annual Japanese Award Ceremony was held on July 8 2024. Among the decorated scholars was Dr Shigeto Kikuchi, Associate Professor an der University of Tokyo, who received the Imperial Prize and the Japan Academy Prize for his Ph.D. thesis „Herrschaft, Delegation und Kommunikation in der Karolingerzeit“, that was written at the LMU Munich and published 2021 as volume 31 in the MGH series “Hilfsmittel”. After the ceremony, the prize winners and the newly elected members of the Japan Academy were honoured with a personal reception at the Imperial palace.
